Never fired that Arturia plugin up ever again. I A/B'ed the Arturia Synclavier to to the test version of Audioterm II that I have. A Synclavier for example, I love that sound. I know what you're saying Zero, but it's Arturia. that I have always hated, but I came across one that really treated it in a fresh way and all of the sudden that synth that I thought was kind of dated sounding sprung to life. Sure, most demos were of the terrible techno/trance stiff-sequence b.s. I got called out on that and I went though some Youtube demos to see if I was talking out my anus, and it happens that I was. Not that I thought it sucked or anything, just that I wasn't a big fan. It's funny, I recently said something stupid (surprise!) about the SH-101. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go listen to Owner Of A Lonely Heart.

I'm not sure how far Arturia veered from the original, but if it's pretty 1:1 feature wise, I'd blame the users on the cheese factor. Avoid the usual trappings and you'll find magic. You'll not find a bigger hater of 80s cheese than I, and I find the CMI V (and all the digital emulations by Arturia) to sound quite fresh when you ignore the factory sounds/samples. This is all just my opinion to be sure.Hate the game, not the playah, OG. Lastly, not everyone is a fan of Arturia's software since other dev houses often blow them out of the water, sound-wise. You don't need to link genius tracks that have been done with the Fairlight, because I'm fully aware of those. Outside of true 80's pop lovers, not everyone wants that flavor. I didn't/don't want to hear those sounds ever again, where I can stand even a DX7 Rhodes and other 80's overused cheez. I realized after going through Fairlight sound sets a while back just how much of what a lot of people think of as bad 80's music is Fairlight based.
